LIBERATION LIBRARY (2).jpg

The 1619 Freedom School's Liberation Library is a functioning, lending library for the Waterloo community.

We have books for all ages including picture books, chapter books, series, novels, and nonfiction titles, including popular titles for children and adults.

Our books center Black history, culture, stories, and characters.

The library is an extension of our motto: Liberation through Literacy.

  • Items checked out for 21 days

  • We do not charge overdue fees

    • If books are overdue, you cannot check out new books until the outstanding books are returned.
